Hello everyone! Can you believe that it is March? The past month has absolutely flown and now it is Autumn! Apologies again for being MIA - life just always seems to get in the way! Anyway, a new month means a new INKreator's Blog Hop and this month is all about balloons!
Lot's of you would have arrived here from the very talented Rochelle's blog - her creations, as always, are absolutely stunning!
For this blog hop we are all about balloons and in particular I have chosen to use the new Balloon Celebration stamp set and coordinating punch - you can purchase these and all of the other products I have used here in my online store.
The image is taken from the Stampin' Up! website. Originally I wasn't going to buy this stamp set and punch, but once I started using it, I just realised how versatile and handy they are!
Today I wanted to show you how to create quick and easy cards using Project Life cards as the base.
I am using the new Project Life collection from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue - Memories in the Making (the above image show's a selection of the cards and is from the Stampin' Up! website).
I chose four 4x4 cards and one 4x6 card to use as my card bases.
I think a lot of people think of Project Life cards as simply being about memory keeping, however they are perfect to use as card bases, plus you get such a great variety of patterns. This collection also has a few balloons, so it was perfect for this balloon spectacular!
I started with the 4x4 cards and used coordinating card stock for the card bases and mounts. Starting with the 'celebration' card - this card was pre-printed with the celebration sentiment and the coloured ink splats - to embellish it I stamped the four balloons and strings using the two-step stamping technique, the stars and then topped it off with a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot. For the next card I used the dots as the base and I then punched out the balloons in different coordinating card stock and then stamped with the same colour ink. In black I stamped the sentiment, the bow and the strings and then adhered the balloons to the card, using dimensionals to pop-up two of the balloons.
The other two cards I whipped up to show you that not all cards using this stamp set have to have balloons. The spring card was pre-printed and all I did was add the dandelion blossoms in tempting turquoise to subtly reflect spring (the season) and topped it off with some rhinestones and a candy dot. The last 4x4 card had the yellow burst so I all to do was stamp the sentiment and add some bling! So easy!
I used the balloon 4x6 card as the card base for the larger card. I then punched and stamped out a Daffodil Delight balloon and then defined it with the outline stamp in basic black, along with the bow and string. I had to trim the card base so I used the reverse side to cut out a banner for the happy birthday sentiment. I then topped off the card with some Candy Dots.
So there you have it - five simple but effective cards. I know that lots of my blog readers are Project Lifers so why don't you break out your PL stash and make some cards!
