Can you believe that it is the 1st of October already! Boy September just flew by! That means that it is time for the INKreator's monthly blog hop - this month we are all about the 'Hostess with the Mostess', showcasing the gorgeous exclusive hostess stamp sets that are exclusive to purchase if you host a workshop for you and your friends!
You may have arrived at my blog from the gorgeous Rochelle, who created some stunning cards using Silhouettes and Script! For my projects I am using the Best Thoughts stamp set.
This is not a stamp set I would normally be attracted to but I have to say I absolutely adore using it! It's perfect for general cards, but I have also used it to create some sympathy cards too, which I find are often the hardest to create - that's where the 'you're in my thoughts' sentiment has come in handy.
For the first card I used the flower stamp and water coloured it with Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral on the awesome Shimmery White card stock (in fact I used Shimmery White for all of the stamped images - it's such beautiful paper and adds a little sparkle to your cards. I also directly stamped the sentiment on the card and I then mounted it on Basic Black and a Calypso Coral card base. To embellish the card I added some pearls and I water coloured the butterfly, which I then adhered to the flower using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I kept the butterfly theme going in my next card, using only the butterfly stamp and a sentiment. I really love the Rich Razzleberry and Delighful Dijon colour combination to I used that as the mounting papers. I then stamped a pattern of the butterflies across the paper, to add some further highlights, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut three butterflies and then adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then added the 'thoughts sentiment - it was a simple card but I'm really happy with the result.
Finally I created a water coloured flower using Pool Party and Mint Macaron - I then fussy cut out the flower and tied on a bow using the Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim. I rounded the corners of three layers of card stock to create the base, I then embossed the top layer using the Decorative Dots embossing folder. I used one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies to stamp the sentiment on. Finally, I adhered everything down. I am so happy with this card!
