Hello lovelies, sorry for the absence from the blog over the last three weeks, I haven't been feeling well but I am back and getting my craft on!
I started scrapbooking about five and a half years ago - I started with 12x12 layouts but after I few months I began to doubt my layouts and the memories I was capturing. Ash and I don't have any children and after a while I felt like our memories weren't valid or important enough to scrap, especially when I looked around the internet and all I saw were layouts of children. So I turned my attention to card making and put scrapbooking on the back burner. Over time though I continued to look at blogs and then I found people like me, with no kids and a fun life, so I was re-inspired.
It was through this that I found Project Life and then, as they say, the rest is history. So then when I heard that Becky Higgins, the creator of Project Life, was coming to Australia, along with another of my favourite scrapbookers, Heidi Swapp, I knew that I had to see them! Fortunately for me, Spotlight put on a master class so not only did I get to meet them, but I also got to spend the day learning new techniques and crafting with some of my friends!
As you can see by the double page spread, we had a great day! I got to spend time with some of my favourite friends from Camp Paper Scissors - Carol, Michelle and Trudy, but I also got to meet one of my online friends Manda, in real life!
With Heidi we got to make a gorgeous mini album and learn some new mixed media techniques and with Becky we got to hear about the origins of Project Life and work with a great Amy Tangerine mini kit. At the master class we got some amazing products from Heidi and Becky and I used all of the Heidi products in my spread and in this layout. I even tried out some of the techniques we used in the class.
It was so great to get to meet some of my scrapbooking idols. If you ever get a chance to craft with the 'stars' make sure that you do! Have a great day and I will be back later in the week with some more crafty goodness! Love love love, L xx
