I think I can…I think I can… catch up on Project Life!

Hello lovelies, how are you all? I am currently in the midst of a back injury, so that is probably why you haven't heard much from me. I have been crafting a bit though in bursts when I can sit!

I have been active over on the Polly blog working on lots of new creations - so make sure that you head over there and see what I have been up to. Tomorrow on the Polly blog I am creating some cards as part of a Sketch Duet challenge and last week I showcased some of my Project Life - with lots of colour

I have spent a lot of time trying to catch up on Project Life - I am currently working on Week 11 - March is pretty close to June isn't it? LOL! In this blog post I will show you a couple of layouts that I have been working on using recent Studio Calico kits. I love these kits, as they take you out of your comfort zone and provide lots of great products that I may not have previously created with.

First up is Week 8 using the Sugar Rush kit:

This kit had a lot of super cute embellishments - banners, resin bows, chipboard stickers and wood veneer. I backed the wood veneer with patterned paper so that I could keep a consistent colour theme throughout the spread. I also added some Twine & Ink gold heart embellishment. You have to love a touch of gold!

This was a great week - I had a fantastic afternoon evening hanging out with one of my gorgeous friends in Sydney following some work meetings, a great hens night for my future sister-in-law, plus as always great food and good movies!

Speaking of movies, there is a picture from the film Dallas Buyers Club - this is a flip pocket! Check it out:

You read more about the creative process for the Flip Pocket over on the Polly Scraps blog. Flip pockets are great as they let you add a little bit more in those jam packed weeks without have to do another spread or insert. I bought my flip pockets from Close To My Heart - they have a range of sizes, which is great!

Next up is Week 10, using the Office Hours Studio Calico kit. This kit was another fun kit to use and I am so in love with the Thickers Alphabet - I need a million packets! Love love love them!

This kit was fun to work and how awesome is the Roald Dahl card - love love love his work and vision! Plus those cork embellishments were too cute. I also channelled my great friend Kate over at FiveAtEleven who has an obsession with the circle punch - but she is right, it totally rocks on Project Life layouts. Love it!

Studio Calico are great - even for those of us in Australia. The Project Life kit roughly costs me $30 a month and it is so worth it. If you are interested in subscribing you can use my referral link - both you and I will benefit.

I did an insert for this week too, to capture the amazing moments of Ash's brother's wedding. In the lead up to the wedding I did a lot of work - all of the invites, place cards, venue styling, etc. The Cameo also got a real work out too!

I am so happy with how it turned out and the best part was how happy they were with the day.

Weddings are a lot of work, but they are also a lot of fun, which makes it worth it.

Now you may be wondering where Week 9 is - well stay tuned because in my next blog post I will be showing you Week 9 and all the fun we had at Camp Paper Scissors! Thanks so much for visiting here and I will see you soon! Love love love, Lauren xxx
