Fun, Food & Friends: A Whirlwind Week in California!

The final leg of our trip to the US was a week of no work and just fun in LA! After three weeks of intense field visits it was nice to have time with Ash, although it was certainly action packed! we were lucky enough to spend time with two lots of friends, one from Australia and the other our friends from Canada - who we rarely get to see, so that was an absolute treat! Plus, theme parks with kids are wonderful - the pure joy and magic in their eyes is incredible!

Disneyland was certainly a sensory overload - we had 3 massive days of rides, parades, magic and even a lunch with five princesses! We stayed a few blocks away from Disneyland and would walk to the park or take the shuttle. The rides were great and now that California Adventure is open - there are more rides than ever. Highlights were definitely Radiator Springs Racers, Space Mountain, Soarin' Over California, Splash Mountain and Star Tours. There is nothing like feeling like a big kid.

Lunch in Ariel's Undersea Restaurant was also such a lovely experience - seeing the look on little girl's faces when they got to meet a Disney Princess was wonderful, plus Ariel said she liked my hair so that made my day!

We also went on a road trip to Legoland in San Diego where we surprised our friends son - his face at seeing us there made me cry, and seeing him and my best friend Liv after three weeks apart was incredible. Legoland is a great place, especially for little kids, lots of rides and things to see - plus who doesn't love Lego!!

We finished off our trip to LA with a 'knight' at Medieval Times - jousting, eating food with our hands, cheering on our knight and fun cocktails was a great way to finish our trip.

Ash and I had an amazing adventure to the US and I hope that you have enjoyed these little insights into our travels. Now, to print the photos and scrapbook them! I will be showing these layouts throughout the next few months so stay tuned. L xx
