Hi lovelies! Thank you all so much reading my last blog and welcoming my guest, Liv from INKreations! While Liv was over here on the blog she gave me some amazing Stampin Up goodies to giveaway and we now have a winner! To win, all you had to do was like the INKreations pages on Facebook and Instagram and leave a comment here on the blog…we have now have a winner….drumroll please…Kristy Jamieson! Well done Kristy, a set of retro fresh journalling cards, stickers and washi will be on their way to you shortly!
Now, while I am here I thought that I would post some of the layouts that I created a couple of weeks ago while I was at the #camppaperscissors retreat. At Camp.Paper.Scissors our hosts always get videos from our favourite creatives and this year was no different, we had Wilna Furstenberg, Maggie Holmes and my favourite ever - Elise Blaha Cripe! Elise is one of the reasons why I got into Project Life and back into traditional scrapbooking.
Elise even set us a monochromatic challenge! I was determined to do my best effort for this challenge but I only had 35 minutes to get it done (shopping and chatting had called my name earlier in the day). So I got to work! I had photos from the helicopter ride I took in January so I thought that the red and white of Melbourne Heart was the perfect monochromatic colour combo!
I combed my stash for all of the red and white elements that I had, including paper, project life cards, flair, twine, thickers, enamel dots, tags (thanks Kate) and other bits and bobs. I started my page with some red Mister Hueys splatters and then worked from there. I was working so frantically that my table buddies were feeling my stress too! Anyway, here is the finished layout that I put out for judging by the group:
(apologies for the dodgy photo quality - I really need to work on that!) I loved the photos that I used, especially the black and white photo that my hubby Ash edited to have me in colour.
Anyway, back to the competition. All the votes were tallied and I won!! I was so excited and I am definitely going to set time challenges when I make layouts! I was so productive and happy with the results! Thanks lovely ladies for picking my entry - such a thrill!
After this layout I was so inspired that I made another one to put on the back of this layout, building on the monochromatic theme and using a totally different layout style - I went the grid approach, which I am not loving but I am happy that I have a different layout style a go. I am especially loving the large wood veneer card made by Raquel, a fellow camper and the owner of A Piece of Cake Designs. So cute!
Anyway, that's it for me today but I will be back later in the week to show you were I am up to with my 2014 Project Life! I am even up to February now! Winning!
Keep smiling and creating. L xxx
